These are a few things that I did to finally get that first game out into the world for people to see.
1. Keep It Simple Stupid
I cannot stress to you how important this is. Too many students and indie developers get in way over their head. It's certainly easy to want to be the next indie rock star and make a AAA game in your basement. I can't recall how many projects I started and never came close to finishing. Here's the best advice I can give you... Start with one idea, get that idea working, and then add another idea if you feel your game needs it.
